Areas of work
€2,250 fixed fee. A focused assessment of one commercial question, delivered within five working days of receiving the required information. Includes a concise written assessment of risks, opportunities and recommended next steps.
From €6,000. Evaluation of commercial opportunities for an existing product or service in a defined market, including potential customers, distribution channels, competitive positioning and routes to market.
From €4,000 per month. Project-based support for entering new markets, identifying commercial partners, developing customer relationships and advancing international business opportunities.
Individually scoped and quoted. Comprehensive assessment of aquaculture investments, new production ventures and complex seafood projects, integrating commercial, operational, financial and regulatory considerations. Larger assignments may be structured in successive feasibility and development phases.
Experience
Caladan Consulting is led by Higini Hernández, with more than 15 years of international seafood industry experience and particular expertise in bluefin tuna.
His background spans Australian Southern bluefin operations in Singapore, international sales at Balfegó in Spain, and four years with Oddisea Superfrozen in the United States.
Experience covers premium seafood processing, sourcing, international sales and distribution, commercial strategy and aquaculture project development across Asia, Europe and North America.

Each assignment begins with an agreed scope, deliverables, timeframe and fee. Where necessary, Caladan works alongside external technical, legal, engineering or other specialist advisers.
Focused industry expert consultations are also available at €500 per hour for investors, research firms and seafood businesses seeking firsthand insight into bluefin tuna, premium seafood, processing and international markets. Consultations are by appointment and do not include a written report or additional research.
